Webinar Overview

Implementing a secure embedded system requires a multi-disciplined engineering effort. The whole software development lifecycle needs security requirements to be addressed at every stage.

This webinar provides an overview of standard Linux security mechanisms such as containers, capabilities and Linux security models. We illustrate how security requirements influence software design by introducing a secure software development lifecycle (secure SDL).

In addition we look at how the Yocto Project, which provides a comprehensive framework to implement a Linux distribution, is used to provide additional Linux security support such as LSMs, containers, virtualization, OTA and testing.

Most security requirements rely on cryptography so we also outline the current Linux software support for the cryptography accelerator CAAM available on the NXP i.MX6 and i.MX7 family SoCs.
