August 2025|News
Doulos is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Open Source Summit taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from August 25–27, 2025. The event will also be accessible virtually.
Open Source Summit is the premier event for open source developers, technologists, and community leaders to collaborate, share knowledge, and drive open source innovation forward. It serves as the central gathering place for contributors to open-source code and communities across the globe.
As part of our contribution to the summit, Doulos will be delivering one technical presentation:
Zephyr Workqueues: How They Work and Queue
Presenter: Loïc Domaigné, Senior Technical Staff Member, Doulos GmbH
Date: Monday, August 25, 2025
Time: 11:20 – 12:00 CEST
Location: Room G106
This session will provide a practical, hands-on exploration of Zephyr workqueues - a key mechanism for offloading non-urgent processing from ISRs and high-priority threads to lower-priority threads.
The presentation will cover:
What workqueues are and what they are not
Common use cases in embedded systems
The relationship between workqueues, scheduling, and meta-IRQ threads
Best practices for managing sysworkq bottlenecks, data passing, and task cancellation
Insights into lesser-known queues such as p4_wq
Live code demonstrations and analysis of Zephyr’s internal implementation
Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to use workqueues effectively within Zephyr-based projects, informed directly by the source code and real-world examples.
In addition to the presentation, attendees can visit Doulos at our booth to pick up a free Zephyr Commands & Concepts Quick Reference and learn more about our embedded software training portfolio, including the recently launched Zephyr Essentials course.
