October 2001|Press release
Already Europe's first choice for VHDL, Verilog® and SystemC expertise, Doulos has expanded its design environment know-how to encompass training and project services using Perl for hardware design.
Right from the start Essential Perl teaches the language in the context of electronics design - vital to enable the productivity gains achievable from its application. It covers the need-to-know essentials for design engineers, and is packed full of examples and exercises all directly based on design related problems.
Perl is a popular and widely-used cross-platform programming language. In particular, its powerful text processing capability can be used to automate many otherwise error-prone, repetitive and time consuming tasks in the ASIC and PLD design process.
Rob Hurley, Doulos Business Manager, comments:
A number of our blue chip clients have come knocking on our door over the last year asking for Perl training. Within their design environments they had recognised the benefits that focused application of Perl could bring. What was lacking in the market was an application specific and targeted training course that would demonstrate and teach the potential of Perl specifically within the hardware design context. This new course does just that and we believe will lead to enhanced design team productivity within our client base. This course has been designed to be accessible to engineers who need to evaluate how Perl can be applied to advantage, and to teams who are already using Perl.
In just 3-days, the Doulos Essential Perl course will teach engineers all they need to know about exploiting the capabilities of Perl to achieve gains in efficiency and productivity. What's more, the hands-on exercises and examples provide the ideal starting point from which engineers can develop their own applications.
The first public course takes place 14-16 November in Poole in England, with on-site training available across Europe now. Direct bookings can be made by calling +44 (0)1425 471223.
